Manchuela: Balance, singularity and quality from one of the newest DO's
The area of the DO Manchuela is situated in a valley between the rivers Jucar and Cabriel. The limestone-based clay soils from the sediments of the two rivers collect and hold the rainwater that falls, even before the grapes have grown. The vineyards are located at a height of 600 to 1,100 metres above sea level. The high temperatures during the day and the nocturnal freshness of the Mediterranean breeze favour slow ripening and perfect formation of the polyphenols in the grapes. The natural conditions together with the traditional methods of cultivation and a moderate production, makes for an ideal framework for guaranteeing the personality and excellent quality of its wines.
